A win for South East bus customers
22 February, 2017
South East bus commuters will have an easier run in and out of the city from today, with the busway along Anzac Parade reopening for express buses.
Construction crews have worked hard to install more than 400 metres of foundations for the light rail track on the busway over the past three months, in order to be able to reopen it for commuters.
In April last year, afternoon peak buses were diverted onto Anzac Parade when work commenced on the temporary diversion of Anzac Parade and the light rail tunnel.
Both morning and afternoon express buses have now been reinstated, as well as the special event buses in time for the busy sporting season at Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium.
The CBD and South East Light Rail will provide efficient, turn-up-and-go public transport with services every four minutes between CBD and Moore Park and every eight minutes to and from Randwick and Kingsford between 7am and 7pm.
