Barangaroo Ferry Hub

The Barangaroo Ferry Hub will service thousands of residents, workers and visitors travelling to and from Sydney’s newest commercial district, Barangaroo. When the ferry hub opens in early 2017, it will provide increased capacity for ferry services to meet future demand, and reduce demand on busy Circular Quay wharves.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

In January 2016, the project site was established at Barangaroo South. Major construction began in February 2016 and work is due to be completed in early 2017.

Construction activities during 2016 include piling work undertaken from barges, pontoon and landing structure install, fit out and finishes for each wharf.

Ferry customers travelling to Barangaroo will continue to use the existing King Street Wharf until the new ferry hub is complete.

KEY FEATURES

  • Two new wharves for customers travelling from the inner harbour and Sydney’s west.
  • Accessible pontoons, seated waiting areas and weather protection.
  • The new ferry hub will connect customers to the city centre via Wynyard Walk, a new pedestrian link between Barangaroo and Wynyard Station.
Sunday travel capped at $2.50
