Change in special tow away areas to support Sydney Light Rail operations
18 November, 2019
Changes to tow away areas will be introduced in the CBD and Randwick from Sunday 1 December prior to CBD and South East Light Rail passenger services starting in early December.
The Sydney CBD tow away area is changing to support Sydney Light Rail operations.
Changes will now include the extension of a CBD special tow away area to include Devonshire Street, Surry Hills and a new special tow away area along High Street, Randwick to support Light Rail operations.
Following a review of the CBD Tow Away area, residential areas in Ultimo and Central Park are being removed.
Special tow away areas allow any unattended vehicles illegally parked in no parking, no stopping, and bus zones to be removed by exercising powers under Section 143 of the Roads Transport Act 2013.
The new special tow-away area in Randwick is marked in the accompanying map.
