Choir in front of George Street Christmas tree

There’s more reason than ever to visit George Street this festive season, with extra events and activities in place for the Light Rail Activation Program.

From Christmas choirs to charity donation gift wrapping, fashion parades and pop-up shops, there’s plenty to encourage Sydneysiders and visitors to the heart of the city.

An additional pop-up space is now open outside Myer, following the second closure of George Street between Market and Park streets for light rail construction.

This means visitors can enjoy more outdoor seating, live entertainment and opportunities to buy exclusive gifts.

The Light Rail Activation Program spaces will be on George Street, between King and Park streets, until Boxing Day. On Boxing Day, Market Street will close to cater for the extra shoppers.

It's your city. Know what changes are taking place.
