New light rail vehicle arrives at the Randwick Stabling Yard

Another Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) has arrived at the Randwick Stabling Yard and will undergo testing and commissioning at night. More LRVs will arrive in June with continued night time testing and commissioning expected to occur in the coming weeks.

Light rail construction activity in the CBD zones during May included concrete pours and track laying.

At the end of May, the team also commissioned the Multiple Service Board on Barrack Street, which will power the traffic light signals and smart police street lights in the area.

The largest track slab pour took place on Chalmers Street in Surry Hills during May. This was for the southern turn out section for the Central Light Rail Stop, which will help provide an efficient shuttle service by moving customers between Central Station and Moore Park.

Construction has reached a significant milestone in Kensington with double track now installed on Anzac Parade from Tay Street to Nine Ways.
