Plan ahead for a safe NightRide
11 December, 2015
CBD Coordinator General Marg Prendergast is urging everyone to plan a safe trip home this holiday season, with a reminder that NightRide bus stops now operate from Park Street.
“If you’re travelling home late at night, it’s really important to plan your journey,” Ms Prendergast said.
“NightRide buses no longer operate from George Street but instead depart from Park Street near McDonalds. Some people are still waiting for a bus in front of Town Hall and Woolworths on George Street, which we don’t want late at night, so we have appointed two bus marshals to help ensure the safety of our customers by directing them where they need to go.”
The two marshals will be based at Town Hall and will wear high visibility clothing to assist customers. They will work each morning (midnight to 4.30am) from Sunday 13 December until 3 January, and then every Friday to Sunday (midnight to 4.30am) from 8-31 January 2016.
NightRide buses replace most Sydney trains between midnight and 4.30am. They are also in radio contact with taxi operators to assist customers who wish to be met by a taxi at their destination. Late night bus routes operate along selected corridors every night.
